Club Firefly was created to be a resource for you! Reading is such an important part of learning and our channel is designed to foster a love for books and reading. But Club Firefly is more than entertainment. Our art projects will build children’s creativity while stimulating curiosity and developing motor skills and artistic ability!
What age is Club Firefly for? Our books are perfect for children three and up! They contain great illustrations and storylines that will capture children and adults!
What about the art projects, can anyone do them? Children under 6 will likely need some assistance from an adult to complete most projects. Basic skills of cutting, painting, drawing, coloring, and gluing will be implemented regularly and more complex skills like paper folding, color mixing, shading and collage will challenge the older members of our Club.
What if I don’t have the supplies? A list of materials is provided at the beginning of each episode and again before the project starts. Videos can be paused to collect items. If you don’t have them on hand, improvisation is encouraged when possible or the lesson can be viewed to learn how to do it, and you can return to the video when you have the supplies.
- Basic Supplies to keep on hand: pencils, drawing paper, markers, colored pencils, scissors, glue, paint paper, paint (acrylic, tempera or watercolor), paint brushes, scotch or masking tape.
How long are the videos? Each “episode” is around 20 mins. It’s the perfect amount of time to occupy your children/students so you can check something off of your to do list! Also, each video is bookmarked so you can easily skip to the story or art lesson, if desired.
How do I share my artwork? Our viewers are also creators! Club members can share their work with the Club Firefly community by visiting our Facebook Page . Submit your photos there and after being reviewed, they will be posted. Select images will also be posted to our Instagram Page and here on the Shine Gallery.
